Terms & Conditions

These Terms govern your use of the Primo Nautic app for iPhone, iPad and Android and of the website primonautic.com, including its blog, courses, calculators and cruise ship tracker. By using the app or the website you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use them.

1. Who Provides Primo Nautic

Primo Nautic is provided by Primo Technology Ltd. (“we”, “us”). How to reach us is under Contact. If you got the app from the Apple App Store, section 15 also applies.

2. The Service

Primo Nautic lets you search for vessels, follow them on a map, see the ships near you, get alerts when a vessel arrives at or leaves a port, and read AI summaries and arrival estimates for a voyage. The app has a free plan with limits shown in the app and a paid premium subscription. The website offers maritime articles, courses, calculators and a cruise ship tracker without an account.

We keep improving Primo Nautic, so features and limits may change. We will not remove a feature you have paid for during a paid period without the remedies described in section 9.

3. Who Can Use Primo Nautic, and Your Account

You must be at least 16 years old to use Primo Nautic.

The app creates an anonymous account when you start using it, and you can sign in with Apple, Google or email to keep your fleet across devices. You are responsible for keeping access to your sign-in method secure and for what happens in your account. An anonymous account cannot be recovered if you lose the device, so sign in if your fleet matters to you.

4. Vessel Data, Arrival Estimates and AI Summaries

Vessel positions and voyage details come from AIS signals that ships broadcast, received through our data provider. AIS data can be delayed, incomplete or wrong, a vessel may switch its transponder off, and coverage varies by area. Arrival estimates are predictions, and voyage summaries and analyses are generated by AI; both can be wrong.

Primo Nautic is for information only. Do not use it for navigation, collision avoidance or any decision about safety at sea. Use official charts, certified navigation equipment and official notices instead. Confirm arrival times with the shipping line, the port or the vessel’s operator before you rely on them, for example before travelling to meet a ship.

The website’s calculators give approximations, and its courses and articles are general education. They are not certified maritime training and do not replace the qualifications and instruction the law requires for working at sea.

5. Your Content

The vessels you follow, the names and notes you give them and your settings remain yours. You give us only the permission we need to provide the service: to store and process them for you and to send them to the providers named in our Privacy Policy for that purpose. This permission ends when you delete them or your account. We do not publish your content and we do not use it to train AI models.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • use Primo Nautic for anything unlawful, including stalking or harassing people aboard a vessel;
  • scrape, bulk-download or resell vessel data from the app or the website, or build a competing service with it;
  • get around usage limits, for example by automating requests or creating accounts to reset limits;
  • copy, reverse engineer or interfere with the app, the website or our servers, except as the law allows.

If you break these rules, we may limit or suspend your access as described in section 10.

7. Subscriptions and Payments

  • Premium is sold as a subscription through the App Store or Google Play, for the periods offered on the purchase screen. The price, the billing period and any free trial or introductory offer are shown there before you confirm, in your local currency.
  • Payment is charged to your store account when you confirm the purchase, or when a free trial ends.
  • The subscription renews automatically at the then-current price for the same period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your store account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends.
  • You can cancel at any time in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep premium until the end of the period you paid for. Deleting the app or your account does not cancel a subscription.
  • If you cancel a free trial before it ends, you are not charged. Any unused part of a free trial ends when you buy a subscription.
  • Apple or Google processes the payment and we never receive your card details. RevenueCat confirms your subscription status for us.

8. Refunds and Your Right of Withdrawal

Purchases are made with Apple or Google, so refund requests go to them: on Apple through reportaproblem.apple.com, on Google Play through your order history. If you are a consumer in the European Union, you generally have 14 days to withdraw from a purchase. When you start using a subscription straight away and agree to that on the purchase screen, the right of withdrawal can end once the service has begun, as the store’s checkout explains. Nothing in these Terms limits a right of withdrawal or a refund you have under the consumer law of your country.

9. Our Responsibility for the Service

We are responsible for supplying Primo Nautic as described and for providing the updates needed to keep it working and secure during your subscription. If premium does not work as described, write to us and we will fix it within a reasonable time. If we cannot, you are entitled to a proportionate price reduction or to end the contract and get a refund, as consumer law provides. These rights apply in addition to anything Apple or Google offers you. We cannot guarantee the coverage or accuracy of AIS data, which depends on what vessels broadcast.

10. Suspension and Ending the Agreement

You can stop using Primo Nautic at any time and delete your account in the app’s settings. We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms, if the law requires it, or to stop harm to other users or our systems. Unless the matter is urgent or the law prevents it, we tell you first and give you a chance to respond. If we end the service for reasons other than your breach, we refund the unused part of a paid period.

11. Our Intellectual Property

The app, the website, their design, articles, courses and software, and the Primo Nautic name and logo belong to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app and the website under these Terms. This does not give you any other rights in them.

12. Liability

We provide Primo Nautic with reasonable care and skill. We are fully liable for damage we cause intentionally or through gross negligence, for death or personal injury, and wherever mandatory law does not allow liability to be limited. Otherwise we are liable only for foreseeable damage typical for this kind of service, and not for loss caused by relying on vessel data, arrival estimates or AI summaries for navigation, safety or travel decisions against section 4, or by events outside our reasonable control. Nothing in these Terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may change these Terms when the service, the law or our providers change. We publish the new version here with a new date. If a change materially affects you, we tell you in the app or by email in advance, and you can stop using Primo Nautic and cancel your subscription before it applies.

14. Consumer Law and Complaints

If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim in the courts there.

If something goes wrong, write to us at the address under Contact. We answer written complaints within 15 days. You can also turn to an out-of-court consumer dispute resolution body in your country; the EU online dispute resolution platform closed in July 2025.

15. Additional Terms for the Apple App Store

If you got the app from the Apple App Store, this section also applies. These Terms are between you and Primo Technology Ltd. only, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it. If the app fails to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price of the app to you; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app. We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims relating to the app, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to conform to a legal or regulatory requirement, claims under consumer protection or similar laws, and the investigation, defence, settlement and discharge of any third-party claim that the app or your use of it infringes intellectual property rights. You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a United States Government embargo or designated as a terrorist-supporting country, and that you are not on any United States Government list of prohibited or restricted parties. You must comply with any third-party terms that apply when using the app. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms, and on your acceptance Apple has the right to enforce them against you as a third-party beneficiary.

16. Contact and Other Terms
